General note: To get around in the Netherlands by public transportation (trains, metro, trams, buses), there is a useful mobile phone app called 9292

From Schiphol Airport directly to Nikhef:

  • Take a train from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Centraal, then a "sprinter" train direction Amersfoort Vathorst or direction Zwolle, getting off at Amsterdam Science Park. Walk through the railway tunnel to get to Science Park itself.

From Schiphol Airport to hotels in Amsterdam, by shuttle:

  • Connexion shuttles will take you to the block-booked hotels (and many more) for up to only  €17,00 one way. For more information and advance booking, see this link.

From Schiphol Airport to block-booked hotels, by public transport:

  • Hotel Hampshire Eden. Take a train from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Centraal. Then metro 53 direction Gaasperplas, getting off at Waterlooplein; or tram 9 direction Diemen (Sniep), getting off at Rembrandtplein. 
  • Hotel Hampshire Lancaster. Take a train from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Centraal. Then metro 51 direction Westwijk, getting off at Weesperplein.
  • Hotel Hampshire Manor. Take a train from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Centraal. Then take a "sprinter" train direction Zwolle, getting of at Amsterdam Muiderpoort. 

From block-booked hotels to Science Park:

  • From Hotel Hampshire Eden. Take tram 9 direction Diemen (Sniep), getting off at Kruislaan.
  • From Hotel Hampshire Lancaster. Take tram 9 direction Diemen (Sniep), getting off at Kruislaan. 
  • From Hotel Hampshire Manor. Take bus 40 direction Amstelstation, getting off at Amsterdam Science Park. Or, take tram 9 direction Diemen (Sniep), getting off at Kruislaan. Or, take the train from Amsterdam Muiderpoort station to Amsterdam Science Park.

Directions to the banquet at restaurant De Zouthaven:

  • Google Maps: link.
  • Restaurant De Zouthaven is close to Amsterdam Central Station. Exit the station at the north side (i.e. "lake" side, not city side) and take a right. After a ~15 minute walk along the water, to your left you will see a building marked "Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ", next to "Bimhuis". The restaurant is located in Muziekgebouw
