- by car or motorcycle: Nikhef is on the eastern side of Amsterdam - follow the A1 or A2 motorways to get there. For on-site and overnight parking, please contact the local organisers.
You should arrange your own hotel for the dCache workshop, but we can give a couple of suggestions that are close, not-too-expensive, or both:
- Leonardo Lancaster Hotel (https://www.thelancasterhotelamsterdam.com/en/) - on the #19 tram line in a quiet neighbourhood "De Plantage". Also within walking distance of the city centre
- Leonardo Manor Hotel (https://www.themanorhotelamsterdam.com/en/) - quality hotel and on the #19 tram line, about a 30 minute walk from Nikhef.
- Hotel Casa (https://hotelcasa.nl/) - youthful hotel near the Amstel train station, on the #40 bus route and with metro access to anywhere in Amsterdam.
- Meininger Hotel Amsterdam Amstel (https://www.meininger-hotels.com/en/hotels/amsterdam/hotel-amsterdam-amstel/) - also near the Amstel train/metro stations and the #40 bus route.
- Hotel V Fizeaustraat (https://hotelv.com/en/stay/fizeaustraat) - on the #40 bus route and a short walk from Amstel train/metro stations.
- OZO hotel Arena (https://www.ozo-hotels.com/nl/hotels/ozo-hotels-arena-amsterdam) - cheaper option somewhat outside of the centre in the Bijlmer business district), but with a direct metro to Amstel station from where a bus takes you to Nikhef. And go to the city centre any time in the evening
- Motel One (https://www.motel-one.com/nl/hotels/amsterdam/hotel-amsterdam-waterlooplein/) - in the city centre, but on the #19 tram line.
- Q-factory Hotel (https://www.q-factory-hotel.nl/en/) - a 25 minute walk from Nikhef in a hip new neighbourhood, with pubs and a club in-house.
