LISA-NL Community Day 3

Europe/Amsterdam

Description

The ESA and it's European partners, including the Netherlands, adopted LISA, the flagship gravitational wave Laser Interferometer Space Antenna, earlier this year!

This important step recognizes that the mission concept and technology are sufficiently advanced and gives the go-ahead to build the instruments and spacecraft. While the industrial side of the spacecraft work will start in January 2025 once a European industrial contractor has been chosen, the instrument and science aspects are already in progress.

We are organizing the third NL LISA community day to engage all interested community members from across disciplines and career stages to learn the latest status of the mission and Netherlands' LISA activities and to discuss with local experts about how community members might start, deepen, and/or broaden their involvement. LISA data analysis and simulations are examples of areas that could be useful for new or expanded engagement and leverage Dutch hardware and scientific expertise.

We explicitly invite community members who are interested in LISA, but do not yet know if and how to get involved. We will provide introduction activities and activities to engage with other participants on a variety of LISA topics.

Now is the time to learn about LISA and our Dutch LISA contribution!

We look forward to welcoming you October 10 to Nikhef.

Please register your intent to participate by Sept 24 so we can organize the interactions (and lunch) well.
