Description

GENERA
Gender Equality Network in European Research Area

Kick-off meeting, 17 September 2015, Brussels

GENERA is a Horizon 2020 project that aims is to help research performing (RPOs) and research funding organisations (RFOs) in the European Research Area develop and implement Gender Equality Plans (GEPs).

The distinct feature of GENERA GEPs is their focus on identifying and addressing problems preventing women’s scientific advancement in Physics and in related fields.

The Consortium includes twelve RPO’s and RFOs who will jointly develop and use GEPs to improve their own practices and processes.

GENERA will consult widely to learn from similar activities undertaken by others and establish a network of organisations wishing to recruit and retain talented women in Physics.

Most importantly, GENERA will engage with women physicists active in the field, and with STEM gender equality experts to benchmark and monitor the effectiveness of the proposed measures.

The project’s official start date is 1st September 2015 and it will continue for three years.

For expression of interest in joining the GENERA network and further details please contact the GENERA office at genera@desy.de.

Registration for this kick-off meeting is now open.
