Description
Titlte: Beautiful calculations on the lattice Abstract: Lattice quantum chromodynamics provides an ab initio framework to calculate nonperturbative contributions due to the strong force to processes allowed in the Standard Model and beyond. With an emphasis on processes studying the interactions of bottom quarks, I will present an overview of recent lattice calculations, highlight conceptual progress, and give an outlook on ongoing and future work. Focus of my presentation are semileptonic B decays with a single pseudoscalar or vector hadronic final state as well as neutral B meson mixing. In combination with experimental data, these processes allow to determine fundamental parameters of the Standard Model like elements of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix.
