Description
I will review some basic features of hadronic matrix elements describing the three dimensional hadronic structure.
I will focus on generalized transverse momentum dependent parton distributions (GTMDs) which, in many ways, are considered as the most fundamental objects in hadronic physics, and how they should be properly defined.
I will also discuss some open questions regarding another three dimensional object, namely the jet quenching parameter which is of high importance in heavy-ion collisions.
