Description

Prof Achim Stahl will introduce the functionality of wind turbines and explain some of the laws of physics behind the technology. He will present a few statistics on wind energy, introduce the vibrations of the towers and how they might disturb ET, and finally discuss the potential measures to mitigate the impact. Achim Stahl will conclude with a few remarks on the political situation in the three EMR countries.

This ETMOST online meeting is aimed at non-specialist information sharing on the science and technology activities in the EMR region. With updates on geology, R&D, GW science, etc, the online series will cover all relevant aspects for people involved in the Einstein Telescope activities in the EMR region.

The meeting takes place once a month, on Wednesday afternoon between 16:00 – 17:00 hrs (sharp). The presentation can be no longer than 40 minutes, such that there is ample time for questions and discussions afterwards.

Organised by Achim Stahl and Stan Bentvelsen
