Description

Low-scale leptogenesis and the quest for heavy neutral leptons

The type-I seesaw extension of the Standard Model explains the origin of neutrino masses in an elegant and minimalistic way. This extension introduces new massive particles -- heavy neutral leptons. These particles are in the spotlight of many experimental searches. Intriguingly, the same particles can be responsible for the matter-antimatter asymmetry, which is another mystery within the Standard Model.
In this talk, I will discuss the mechanism of asymmetry generation, known as leptogenesis, and its consequences for the experiments.
