Description

Chris van den Broeck (Utrecht University) is an expert in the analysis of Gravitational Wave signals. During this presentation Chris will talk about the observation of the merging of Black Holes. He will explain how the process takes place, and what you can learn from the signals (for example the masses of the Black Holes). The talk is targeted to non-specialists.

This ETMOST online meeting is aimed at non-specialist information sharing on the science and technology activities in the EMR region. With updates on geology, R&D, GW science, etc, the online series will cover all relevant aspects for people involved in the Einstein Telescope activities in the EMR region.

The meeting takes place once a month, on Wednesday afternoon between 16:00 – 17:00 hrs (sharp). The presentation can be no longer than 40 minutes, such that there is ample time for questions and discussions afterwards.

Organised by Achim Stahl and Stan Bentvelsen
