Heavy Neutral Leptons constitute a simple extension that can deal with three Beyond the Standard Model problems: neutrino masses, baryon asymmetry, and dark matter. With great power comes great responsibility: in case of discovery, the properties of new particles should be put under scrutiny to verify whether they can or cannot be responsible for the phenomena. I will discuss some ways to perform this test in future experiments, with a focus on the recently approved SHiP experiment.
