Time and time again, particle phenomenologists trace tiny anomalies in experimental results to reveal the silhouette of new physics. In the year of 2023 (MMXXIII), some of the heavily-pursued anomalies had faded into limbo. Nevertheless, there was the long-standing Cabbibo-angle anomaly of the first-row CKM matrix, and the fresh-baked CDF measurement of the W boson mass, as the survivors standing their own ground in the worlds of high- and low-energy physics.
