Description

In LS-2 the LHCb experiment was upgraded to allow taking data at a about five times larger interaction rate. In this presentation we will give an overview of the construction of its new 'Vertex Locator' (Velo) with an emphasis on Nikhef contributions. We will also discuss the recovery from the 2023 vacuum incident and the current performance.
